The VoIP Advisors vs GetVoIP
We're one of the two options on this page, so read this with the skepticism that deserves. We've still written it the way we'd want to read it: GetVoIP wins some of the rows below, in writing, with reasons.
The short version
- Use GetVoIP if — You want the deepest library of provider reviews and buying guides, including long-tail UCaaS names we don't cover.
- Use us if — You already know roughly what you need and want competing quotes from 200+ providers — including carriers, SD-WAN, security and colo that GetVoIP doesn't touch — with one accountable advisor after the sale.
- Honestly, either — Research on GetVoIP, buy through an advisor. The two aren't mutually exclusive — many of our clients arrived that way.
At a glance
| GetVoIP | The VoIP Advisors | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Provider-review site + vendor-matching service | Independent telecom advisor and quote broker |
| How they make money | Vendor lead-gen and referral fees | Carrier-partner commissions when you buy — never a fee to clients |
| Portfolio focus | SMB UCaaS and contact center (their sitemap drifts into generic SaaS) | 200+ providers across UCaaS, CCaaS, SIP, SD-WAN, security, colo and carriers |
| Provider reviews | Hundreds of provider pages — far more than us | Fewer, deeper pages built from live quote flow and implementation work |
| Pricing data | List-price comparisons | Negotiated-rate benchmarks and a renewal-inflation tracker from live deals |
| After you sign | The relationship typically ends at the handoff | We stay accountable for implementation and renewals |
What GetVoIP is
A long-running provider-review and advisor-matching site focused on SMB UCaaS and contact center — provider breakdowns, user-verified ratings, and a matching service that connects buyers to vendors.
Operating since the early 2010s. Free to buyers; funded by vendor lead-generation and referral relationships — the providers they match you with are (or can become) the ones paying them.
Where GetVoIP is better than us
Yes, really — a competitor comparison that never concedes anything is an ad.
- Content volume and tenure. GetVoIP has published for over a decade and maintains hundreds of provider reviews and guides. Our editorial library is a fraction of that size — if you want to read about a mid-tail UCaaS vendor, they probably have a page and we might not.
- Brand recognition. They rank on nearly every "best VoIP" query and have been cited for years. We're a younger site still earning authority.
- Consumer-ish VoIP coverage. They review small and residential-flavored providers we deliberately don't carry — our portfolio is business-only.
- Vendor-matching speed. Their form-driven matching hands you to vendors quickly; our process starts with a human advisor and takes longer on purpose.
Where we're the stronger choice
- Breadth beyond UCaaS. Our 200+ carrier, MSP, security, SD-WAN and colo providers are structurally outside their focus — a September 2026 diff of their sitemap against our portfolio found 205 of our 231 vendors had zero GetVoIP coverage.
- No pay-for-placement dynamics. Their rankings coexist with referral relationships; our rankings come from live deal experience and we publish the methodology.
- Real pricing data. We publish what businesses actually pay — negotiated rates vs. list across 200+ providers — not brochure prices.
- Post-sale accountability. When porting goes sideways or a renewal jumps 20%, our clients call us. A review site's job is done before that point.
Our honest verdict
GetVoIP is a genuinely good research destination — better than us for breadth of provider reviews, and we tell clients to use it that way. Where we're the stronger choice is the transaction itself: competing quotes across a much wider portfolio, negotiated-rate benchmarks, and an advisor who stays on the hook after cutover. Read their reviews; just remember which vendors fund the ecosystem you're reading when you reach the ranking tables.
What we'd do today
- Skim one or two of GetVoIP's provider roundups to calibrate names and list prices — they're a solid orientation layer.
- Write down your real requirements: seats, locations, must-have integrations, and the phone features your team actually touches daily.
- Get competing quotes through an advisor (us or any broker you trust) so at least two of your shortlisted vendors bid against each other.
- Compare quotes against our negotiated-rate benchmarks before you sign — list price is the opening number in this market, not the price.
GetVoIP is a trademark of its respective owner; this page is editorial commentary, not an affiliation or endorsement in either direction. We've written it to be fair — including the rows they win — because a comparison you can't trust is worth nothing to either of us.
