The VoIP Advisors vs VoIPReview
We're one of the two options on this page, so read this with the skepticism that deserves. We've still written it the way we'd want to read it: VoIPReview wins some of the rows below, in writing, with reasons.
The short version
- Use VoIPReview if — You want a big browsable directory of providers — including residential VoIP — with user reviews telling you how each behaves in the wild.
- Use us if — You want a curated business-only portfolio, negotiated pricing benchmarks, and a single advisor accountable for the deal and the years after it.
- Honestly, either — Treat their user reviews as a due-diligence layer on any provider you're about to sign with — crowd sentiment surfaces support problems vendors never volunteer.

What VoIPReview is
One of the oldest VoIP comparison sites — a large provider directory with user-submitted reviews, comparison tables and a quote-matching service, covering business and residential providers.
Operating since the early 2000s. Free to buyers; monetized through quote-matching lead generation and advertising from the providers listed.
Where VoIPReview is better than us
Yes, really — a competitor comparison that never concedes anything is an ad.
- Directory breadth. They list providers — including residential VoIP and long-tail names — that we intentionally don't carry. As a pure discovery tool, their catalog is bigger.
- User reviews. They've collected buyer ratings for years. We publish no user-review database at all; if you want crowd sentiment on a provider, their model serves that better.
- Tenure. Operating since the early 2000s makes them one of the longest-running sites in the category.
Where we're the stronger choice
- Business-only curation with accountability. A directory lists everyone; we carry 200+ business providers we actually quote and implement, and we'll tell you which ones we don't rate.
- Freshness. Directory content ages — some of their high-ranking articles and plan data predate current pricing by years. Our benchmarks are refreshed from live deal flow.
- Pricing truth. We publish negotiated rates and renewal inflation — what you'll actually pay at signing and year two, not brochure tables.
- One accountable advisor across the whole deal: shortlisting, competing quotes, porting, and the renewal three years later.
Our honest verdict
VoIPReview is the better browsing catalog, full stop — more providers, residential included, with years of user reviews we don't attempt. But a directory can't quote you, negotiate for you, or care whether the port completes. Check their user reviews on any provider before you sign; run the actual purchase through competing advisor-quoted bids.
What we'd do today
- Use their directory to sanity-check the providers on your shortlist — especially the user reviews, which surface support and billing problems early.
- Verify any pricing you found there against current quotes; directory plan tables drift out of date faster than providers update them.
- Pull competing quotes on your final two or three — through us or any broker — and make them bid against each other.
- Check the winning bid against our negotiated-rate benchmarks, then negotiate the renewal terms in the same contract you sign.
VoIPReview is a trademark of its respective owner; this page is editorial commentary, not an affiliation or endorsement in either direction. We've written it to be fair — including the rows they win — because a comparison you can't trust is worth nothing to either of us.
